What causes long-term, life-changing injuries in South Dakota? Sometimes, catastrophic injuries result from unavoidable circumstances or just plain bad luck. However, the clients and families we see with questions about serious injuries have often had their lives turned upside down by:

  • Negligent drivers. Reckless, intoxicated, and distracted drivers sometimes cause serious accidents for the innocent drivers, cyclists, and pedestrians they share the road with, but injured victims in these accidents have the right to hold these negligent drivers responsible for their medical bills and other expenses.
  • Negligent property owners. Grocery stores, apartment complexes, other commercial buildings, and even private property owners have a responsibility to keep their property safe for visitors. When property owners fail to maintain a safe environment, serious injuries can result.
  • Negligent medical and pharmacy professionals. Sometimes serious injuries are caused by the very people we depend on to help us when we are sick or injured. If you or a family member has been seriously hurt by a medication error, medical malpractice, or wrong action by a care provider, you may be able to hold that person responsible for what happened.
  • Negligent companies. We depend on the products we use to function the way they are supposed to, and it’s important that these huge companies are held responsible for their mistakes when dangerous or defective products cause serious injuries.
