Alcohol and speed caused a recent single-vehicle wreck in Vermillion, South Dakota. The crash killed one and injured another.
The fatal accident occurred at the intersection of Chestnut and South University shortly after 4:30 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2011.
Douglas Richardson, 32, of Vermillion, SD, died in the wreck. Gary Ansell, 23, was taken to Sanford Vermillion Hospital for treatment. His injuries do not seem to be life-threatening.
Police say that alcohol and high speeds contributed to this tragic wreck. They also report that neither man was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident.
