A South Dakota man was involved in a car-truck accident on Interstate 80 in Nebraska. The accident occurred around 9:40 a.m. on Monday, January 17, 2011.
Jonathan M. White, 22, of Sioux Falls, SD, was attempting to merge into the eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 near exit 48 in Sidney when he collided with a 2003 Peterbilt semi truck.
White and the driver of the truck, 41-year-old Kenneth W. Bayles, of Santaquin, UT, were taken to the Memorial Health Center in Sidney. White's passenger, 18-year-old Autumn Watts, was flown to the Regional West Medical Center in Scottsbluff.
All three people involved in the accident have been treated and released from the hospital. There was minor damage done to the semi truck, and White's vehicle, a 1991 Dodge Dynasty, was totaled.
Our thoughts go out to all of those affected by this accident. We are glad that no one was killed in the wreck, and remind all of our readers to drive as safely as possible.
