New Impaired Driving Task Force Created

Posted on Jun 22, 2010

The South Dakota Office of Highway Safety has created a task force to look for ways to reduce deaths and injuries resulting from traffic crashes involving drinking or drugged drivers.

The "Impaired Driving Task Force" will focus much of its attention on the problems of repeat DUI offenders and under-age drinkers.

The task force includes members of law enforcement, the judiciary, the health-care industry, the beverage industry, and highway safety and treatment programs.

The task force is set to meet on September 9th, in Pierre, and is expected to offer recommendations as it identifies possible solutions to the problem of impaired driving.
