Sturgis Man Killed in South Dakota Motorcycle Crash

A Sturgis, SD man was killed in a single-person South Dakota motorcycle wreck on a recent Friday.

According to the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, the man was riding on a non-designated trail south of Lead, SD when the crash occurred. Police do not know yet what caused the accident.

Many people responded to the accident, including the Lawrence County Sheriff's Office, South Dakota Highway Patrol, Deadwood Lead Ambulance service, Lawrence County Search and Rescue Team, and Brownsville Fire Department.

Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. He has been identified as 47-year-old Scott Muth.

The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office continues to investigate the accident. We will update you if and when more information becomes available.
