On Friday, July 22, 2011, a Yankton man died after his vehicle struck a field approach and rolled, throwing him from the car. He was not wearing a seatbelt.
About five miles north of Irene at 452nd Avenue and 292nd Street, Patrick Michael Bohlmann, 43, left the road while driving a 1993 Ford Explorer. He was already dead when the police arrived.
Nobody else was in the vehicle with Bohlmann. The South Dakota Highway Patrol continues to investigate the incident.
Our sympathies go out to the family and friends of the deceased, and we again remind our readers of the dangers of not wearing seatbelts.
